Original publisher’s cloth, boards decoratively stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt and dramatically stamped with the figure of the Woman in White in white; two pages of publisher’s advertisements dated August 1860 preceding the title; four pages of advertisements at rear. Contemporary ownership inscription dated September 1860 to front free endpaper. Housed in a custom cloth box. Essentially invisible repairs to spine ends; text fine. An exceptional copy, with the notoriously vulnerable white stamping on the spine remarkably strong.
